Ok first off I just have to say, trio life is a party.
Hermana Robinson and Lesueur are the greatest, we laugh way too often. Juggling
between two areas has its difficulties, especially when it's literally half the
city of Zaragoza and you know you won't be able to get to all the people. But
we've been able to figure who needs our focus and balance between both areas.
We fasted this week to figure out where we should be and which area we should
work in the most, we've been able to find a really good balance. There is also
a member in our ward who returned from her mission a few months ago and she's
an amazing member missionary. We've been going on splits with her to get some
work done in each of our areas and it's been amazing. In ward counsel all the
members gave us the times they are available to help us out, so we have a lot
of great support from the members as well!
The Lord is blessing us so much, the monthly fast with all
of the members is still going strong. We have multiple people fasting a day now
and they are loving it and we are seeing the fruits from their sacrifices. So a
few weeks ago I told you about the women, Nancy, that called us. It was such a
miracle because I had been praying for someone to call us and the next day she
gave us a call! We met with her on Monday and we were able to teach her and her
kids the blessings that come from living this Gospel, her kids are 14 and 7
years old and they just loved it! We are so excited to keep teaching them!
We met with our friend Javier this week. He was a man we
met last transfer and invited him to church, he said he would come and ended
showing up 3 weeks later. His mother and sister passed away a year ago and
we had a member with us who's son passed away recently. It was such a powerful
lesson testifying that he can see his mother again.
Last miracle, we have been trying to get in contact with a
less active family for a while now and last week we were able to finally meet
with them and their two kids. They told us they are ready to start coming back
to church every week!! Yesterday we met with them and we set a date to have
their 9 year old son be baptized. This family has had to go through so much and
it's amazing to be able to help them come back with strong testimonies. Their
daughter is also turning 8 in a month and the father wants to baptize his
children and he doesn't feel ready right now so we are working with all of
them!
So this week I've been studying a lot about our desires.
It started off with working on the Christ like attribute of virtue. In Preach
My Gospel it says that virtue originates in our innermost thoughts and desires.
This is when I started to thoroughly study and analyze what my true desires
are.
In the Book the Mormon it refers to "desire"
over 200 times and in Ether 1:12 it says "I will grant unto thee
according to thy desires, because of thy faith."
What an incredible promise, it shows the importance of
being aware and working towards our desires. I have done a personal analysis of
my desires, good and bad and I am now working to align all my desires to the
will of God. It has been such a humbling process.
The natural man tends to want, property, prominence,
pride, and power. Is is vital that we fix these and readjust our desires so we
can receive what should be the greatest desire, eternal life.
I'll end with a quote and my testimony :)
"it is our actions and desires that cause us to
become something, whether a true friend, a gifted teacher, or one who has
qualified for eternal life" - Dallin H. Oaks
I know this Church is true, I know this is the work of the
Lord. I love my Savior and I am grateful for every minute I have to be here.
Love you all!!!
