8 new people! 10/23

October 23, 2018

HI FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

First week of the transfers is already over! And it's been super great… we have a four- sister apartment with one bathroom and it's a little crammed sometimes but we make it work. All of the Hermanas are super cute, the baby (youngest missionary) that just came into the mission is from Germany and she speak English as a second language and she's having to learn Spanish from English and not German which is her first language and YES she's incredible. It's kind of weird having a baby come in, and I'm not a baby anymore. It's been humbling just seeing the progress I've been able to make in such little time. The Lord truly does help his missionaries. I am just so grateful for the spirit as I learn to rely on the Lord to help me speak to the people here in Spain.
So, we were able to teach Gustavo this week and it was an incredible lesson, it was the type of lesson where my companion and I didn't know what we said afterward because the spirit was guiding us the entire time.
Filadelfia is progressing slowly, she does not have a lot of time to meet with us and I've had to remember that everyone has their own timing of their conversion. We are continuing to invite her to read and pray and now it is in her hands.
We've been having lots of miracles this week, we had a hard time finding people and on Thursday, we had only found one new investigator, BUT Friday and Saturday we were able to find 8 new people in two days! It was such a miracle. God really does put people in our path that need to hear from us.
This church is true and I'm so grateful for the knowledge that we have of this gospel, it is Christ's church and it has been restored.

I love you all!!!

Another transfer in Sabadell 10/16

October 17, 2017

Hello!!!

This week has been great, it's a new transfer and I'm staying in Sabadell with my companion!! And I'm super happy because I know there's still work we need to do here! Also, there are two sisters coming to live in our piso (apartment) with us. It's going to be a little cramped but I'm really excited!

This week we met with Filadelfia, she is super busy so it was a miracle to be able to meet with her! We taught her lesson 3 and the spirit was so strong. She's also coming to church and reading the Book of Mormon. She knows the important of baptism so we're just helping her to get the testimony she needs to make this covenant.
Also, Gustavo is making progress, we were having a hard time getting him to read the Book of Mormon and while we were teaching him in the church we felt that we needed to invite a certain member in with us and the member said exactly what he needed to hear and he is now reading the Book of Mormon and it was a miracle.
So just a quick spiritual thought. I love this quote about the Book or Mormon.
“The Book of Mormon is one of God's priceless gifts to us. It is both sword and stone- it sends the word of God into battle to fight for the hearts of the just and serves as an arch defender of truth. As Saints, we have not only the privilege to defend the Book of Mormon but also the opportunity to take the offense to preach with power its divine doctrine and bear testimony of its crowning witness of Jesus Christ.”

The Book of Mormon is the word of God and it truly testifies of Christ. Read it daily, and share it with others.

Love you all!

The Lord's errand 10/9

October 9, 2017

Hello!!!!

This week has been just a rollercoaster! We found some incredible people this week and I am so excited about them! Sainey is from Gambia and he’s had the hardest time the past few months and when we found him; he was humbled. He lost his house recently and he is struggling a lot. But we have been reaching him and he is embracing the gospel!  We invited him to be baptized and he accepted a fecha (date)! He also said he wants to go to church every Sunday and do all that he can to have a testimony of Christ. The ward is also helping him and it truly has been so humbling to teach him.
We are also teaching a couple more investigators that are so amazing! Sabadell, Spain is so full of miracles right now… it is incredible! I was super happy, we found a woman from Bolivia this week, (there are a lot of people here from Bolivia). She has a friend who is a member and she was so excited to meet with us! She wants us to teach her kids and we are meeting with her this Wednesday! It has been so incredible to be able to teach these people here in Spain. I love it! Missionary work truly is amazing and I know I'm here on the Lord's errand. I am learning things every day, and I am so grateful to be here doing the Lord's work.
Well transfers are in a week and I will officially be done with my training! So crazy! Time flies that's for sure! I'm pretty sure it will stay the same for this transfer, if not you'll be hearing about it next week! I love you all!

Love,

Hola familia y amigos!!! How are you? Looks like you all had a great conference weekend! I literally love conference so much, we were able to watch all sessions except Sunday afternoon so I was extremely grateful for that! We set up an elder’s tablet and plugged it into a speaker and we were able to watch it in english! I love conference, but as a missionary it is just 10x better. Also, we had an investigator come to the Sunday morning session, Gustavo! I've mentioned him before, he's the one that contacted us and was curious about genealogy and english classes. He's been coming to all of our classes and we have been able to teach him after our English class. We have also been getting a lot of the members involved, this past Thursday we had a member come to the english class and she was amazing. Her testimony was just what he needed to hear and he went to conference a few days after. We’re meeting with him again this Thursday with the same member and I am so excited.

We also met an amazing woman from Bolivia this past week, she has a 1 year old son and she is so excited to learn more about the gospel! We’re meeting again with her on Wednesday! Something we have also really been focusing on is getting the members involved and getting them excited to help us, as we meet with them and talk to them about missionary work they are so excited and so willing to help us and I truly have seen miracles as they share their testimonies in our citas (appointments) with investigators!

Which brings me back to conference, I wish I had my notes with me but I just want to share a few thoughts I had from conference. I thought a large theme of conference was service. As latter day saints, we must always be looking for ways to serve and help others. I don't remember the speaker but something that stood out to me was about service, we should wake up every morning and ask ourselves, "how can I be a light in someone's life today?" There is always someone out there that needs our help, or needs the blessings of the gospel. God is always preparing people for is, so we must always be humble enough to listen to the prompting of the spirit and help those around us!

Well other news, I'm sure you have heard, and I actually don't know if it's that huge. But Catalunya is trying to be there own country and there have been lots of riots going on here. We haven't seen any of it (we've been staying away) but we've heard shouting and chants at night. I don't know what will happen but don't worry we’re safe here in good old Sabadell (town Katie is serving in).

Love you all!!!

MIRACLES MIRACLES MIRACLES!!! (9/25)

September 25, 2017

MIRACLES MIRACLES MIRACLES!!!

This week was just so full of miracles, so so many but I just want to focus on a few of them! So, we have been making a lot of phone calls this week and trying to clean up the area book.  We called a woman named Filadelfia and she is from Bolivia, she had met with the missionaries a few years ago but she said she became so busy and lost contact with them. She answered our phone call and we set up a visit with her and she is literally the cutest person. When we went to our appointment, we were able to get to know her a little bit better, then we played the video, "Gracias a El" and the spirit was so strong. We then taught her a lesson and she ended up accepting a baptismal date!!!!!! It was so incredible and the spirit was so strong…Such an amazing experience! She also came to church and we are excited to keep working with her. She has a pretty busy schedule so I just hope she will have time to meet with us!

This week has been amazing; we also had interviews with President and of course that was pretty incredible. Also, today it is an elder’s birthday in our district and we went on a little boat ride along the coast and it was so beautiful… I loved every second of it. Probably one of the best preparation day activities so far!
Well, I am doing great here in Spain, I am learning something new every day and I am so grateful for this opportunity to be able to grow and learn so much and become so close with my Savior.

I love you all!.

Love you,

Hermana Bangerter

P.S. I tried salteñas (idk if thats how you spell it) from Bolivia this week and they are incredibleeee.
