"BE YOU" 4/18

April 18
Well family and friends another week flew by here in Spain Barcelona! Well just a little update on what's been going on here, last week we had a little zone enfoque (conference) and we got together as a zone to talk about our zone vision and it's all about “BE YOU”. And I loved that, being yourself in this work is key. When you come here, your world is completely changed around you and your understanding of yourself. For me, I just felt like I was not myself, I didn't even know who I was exactly or who I wanted to be. As time has gone on, God has put people and experiences in my life to help me figure out not who I want to be but who HE wants me to be. And as I have been really finding and using those gifts that He has given me in the work I have found so much joy. Last Friday we had interviews with President and Hermana Dayton. They are two of the most incredible people I have ever met, and I love every minute I get to be around them, especially one on one. They have so much life, advice and it amazes me how they can help to build someone up and yet still strive to do better in just a quick 15 minutes. They are truly so Christ-like.
Well I'll be honest, I have been feeling a bit discouraged the past few days. We have had a few investigators drop us and people who just don't want to progress. It has not been easy and it's a bit frustrating at times. But as I was reading in the new testament this week I found a scripture that gave me the exact comfort I needed.
Acts 5:41-42
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
These Scriptures are talking about the Apostles Peter and John. They were arrested and not treated well for preaching about Christ. After this experience they very well could have given up. But they REJOICED that they could suffer in His name, and they continued to teach. How grateful I am to be here and to be rejected by countless people in the streets, and in their homes, for my Savior, Jesus Christ.
So funny story, I bought a metal water bottle to carry around with me and as I was casually strolling down the busy streets I accidently nailed my water bottle against a dog's head.. The owner got real mad and I felt SO bad. Hahaha I just sat there for a solid two minutes apologizing to the women for hitting her dog with my water bottle.
Well so much more has happened and I wish I could tell you all in one email! I'll send pictures to sum some other stuff up!
Love you all!
