Well this week has been a blink of an eye. I honestly never thought this day would come, but I'll be seeing all of you real soon!
We had a really great week, the miracles just keep coming in. We started off the week with 3 Noche de hogars (family nights) in a row, the first with our Venezuelan family we are teaching, Monday with the Nicaraguan family we are teaching, and Tuesday we had 4 families in a noche de hogar, 2 families from El Salvador, 1 from Peru and 1 from Colombia. In all we had 6 friends and 5 members. It was super great, we were able to teach the restoration and have the members participate and really bring the spirit. Family home evenings are the best to see the least, especially cause now they all have friends in the ward.
We are teaching a family from El Salvador and it is a mom and her son, they are reading the Book of Mormon everyday now and they've come to church twice. The Mom has told us that she feels like she's been able to fill something that was empty and she didn't know how to fill it. We are meeting with them again this week and we are excited to see their progress!
The Peruvian family we are teaching is doing amazing, especially the Mom and Marcos who are both members. María received a calling in church on Sunday and she's super excited and Marcos is loving passing the sacrament each Sunday. The two daughters are slowly progressing, starting to read and pray daily.
The Venezuelan family who had a fecha (date) is still progressing but they just hit a few bumps in the road. You can tell the adversary is working really hard to stop their progress. But Alfonso has really felt the need to be baptized and expressed to us today that he feels ready to be baptized, receive the priesthood and be an example to his wife and children. Eli is a bit slower in her progress, but that's the beauty of the gospel, we each have our own personal conversion.
We met with our friend from Nigeria this week and it was such a spiritual lesson. We were able to go over the restoration with him and help him understand that God needs his help in the Restoration of the true church of Jesus Christ, not the reformation of another church. He really felt the spirit and told us he is going to pray about the next step he knows he needs to take. He came to church yesterday and absolutely loved it, which was a big step because he plays a big part in the church that he goes to.
We have a lot of amazing people we are teaching here and they are all in a different part of their own personal conversion. I think that has been the most beautiful thing to see as a missionary. How the gospel changes lives, it brings a new light and purpose to our lives. It helps us feel joy even when we suffer. It gives us the knowledge of God's perfect plan that he has for us.
I have been able to see a lot of people go through their own personal conversion and in the process I have been able to have my own conversion. I am forever grateful for my mission and all God has taught me. He has given me each experience for my own personal growth and I have been able to develop a true relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love this Gospel and I'm so excited to see what else God has waiting for me.
Love you all and I'll see you soon!
