Hola familia y amigos!!! How
are you? Looks like you all had a great conference weekend! I literally love
conference so much, we were able to watch all sessions except Sunday afternoon
so I was extremely grateful for that! We set up an elder’s tablet and plugged
it into a speaker and we were able to watch it in english! I love conference,
but as a missionary it is just 10x better. Also, we had an investigator come to
the Sunday morning session, Gustavo! I've mentioned him before, he's the one
that contacted us and was curious about genealogy and english classes. He's
been coming to all of our classes and we have been able to teach him after our English
class. We have also been getting a lot of the members involved, this past
Thursday we had a member come to the english class and she was amazing. Her
testimony was just what he needed to hear and he went to conference a few days
after. We’re meeting with him again this Thursday with the same member and I am
so excited.
We also met an amazing woman from Bolivia this
past week, she has a 1 year old son and she is so excited to learn more about
the gospel! We’re meeting again with her on Wednesday! Something we have also
really been focusing on is getting the members involved and getting them
excited to help us, as we meet with them and talk to them about missionary work
they are so excited and so willing to help us and I truly have seen miracles as
they share their testimonies in our citas (appointments) with
investigators!
Which brings me back to conference, I wish I
had my notes with me but I just want to share a few thoughts I had from
conference. I thought a large theme of conference was service. As latter day
saints, we must always be looking for ways to serve and help others. I don't
remember the speaker but something that stood out to me was about service, we
should wake up every morning and ask ourselves, "how can I be a light in
someone's life today?" There is always someone out there that needs our
help, or needs the blessings of the gospel. God is always preparing people for
is, so we must always be humble enough to listen to the prompting of the spirit
and help those around us!
Well other news, I'm sure you have heard, and
I actually don't know if it's that huge. But Catalunya is trying to be there
own country and there have been lots of riots going on here. We haven't seen
any of it (we've been staying away) but we've heard shouting and chants at
night. I don't know what will happen but don't worry we’re safe here in good old
Sabadell (town Katie is serving in).
Love you all!!!
