First Exchange (8/14)

August 14 2017

HOLA FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

I have loved seeing all these amazing pictures of the family, everyone is so beautiful and happy. And WOW Britney is sooooo pretty. And both Jonathan and Britney look so happy. I'm so glad the wedding went so perfectly. I'm sure it was even better than Britney ever thought it would be. Wow both Brit and Court are just beautiful brides. I seriously can't get over how beautiful my family is…hahaha I love it!

Alright, so updates this week. Honestly, I had been dreading this past week ever since I got
to the mission. But, I have also been praying that I could handle it and Heavenly Father answers prayers. We had our interviews with Hermana Dayton and I told her all about my sister getting married and she didn’t forget it, she called me Friday night and checked to see how I was doing, Hermana and President Dayton are such great people.

This past Friday was my first intercambio (going out with different companion than your own).  I traveled all by myself on the train and it was terrifying but I survived. It was perfect timing for me to have an exchange, it was just what I needed. I was with Hermana Nelson (apparently she's Elder Nelson’s granddaughter) I wasn't aware of this until after haha. But she's an amazing missionary and she just taught me so much and said everything I needed to hear at that time. It was an answer to my prayers. She showed me how to better fulfill my purpose as a missionary.

We've spent a lot of time with the members here and the more I'm around them the more I love them. They are so nice and they just help me so much with the Spanish. They are also from all over the world. And I've already tried foods from everywhere. They love to feed us. I've never been so full in my life. No joke, even more full than thanksgiving dinner. Haha it's great!

This week we haven't had too much success but I've learned so much. I've learned to appreciate the little miracles that happen all the time as a missionary. God is really helping us every step of the way and it's incredible. I'm so grateful to be here and to continue to learn and grow so much every day.

I love you!!
